Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
At RenaissanceRe, we’re building a stronger company by seeking diversity, creating equity and practicing inclusion. Led by our DEI Council, these principles guide both our programmatic approach and our daily actions to ensure our employees thrive.
We have active DEI Advisory Committees in each of our offices. These groups further our DEI efforts and learning locally, organizing compelling events and opportunities to discuss and connect with each other.

Our ‘Think Global, Act Local’ framework sees us inviting thought leaders from around the world to share perspectives, providing workshops to deepen awareness and build skills, and encouraging local conversations to apply what we’ve learned.

Over 75% of our annual giving is employee-led, and we support colleagues in giving to causes that they care about and offer volunteer days as well as a generous employee matching program.

From the beginning, we have applied our risk acumen to solve some of the most critical challenges facing society and are determined to shape a positive environment for our people and communities. We are committed to three key goals to deliver on this aim – promoting climate resilience, closing the protection gap and inducing positive social change.
Promoting Climate Resilience
We share our skills and expertise to help the world better manage climate risk. Operationally, we’ve partnered with Climate Impact Partners to provide carbon finance to support innovative projects that reduce global emissions and increase community resilience: rainforest protection in Sierra Leone, reforestation in Kenya and afforestation in Chile.
Closing the Protection Gap
We have a long track record of leadership in applying our risk expertise to increase the economic resiliency of vulnerable communities. Through thought leadership events and industry forums such as the Insurance Development Forum and Sustainable Markets Initiative, we provide sustainable risk mitigation solutions to support those most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
