Underwriting
We have 30 years of underwriting expertise, and our disciplined approach is a hallmark of who we are. We believe in long-term partnerships and being there for our clients when it matters most.
Our focus is on Property, Casualty and Specialty reinsurance. Our underwriters evaluate and manage risk from across the world, sharing our passion for learning and innovation with our clients and working with them to solve their greatest risk challenges.
Our collaborative model thrives on empowering people strategically and tactically. As an underwriter at RenaissanceRe, you have the autonomy to make decisions, managing client relationships and deals from start to finish. You will be empowered with the latest risk understanding to analyze deals and support our clients, working closely with our team of actuaries and risk analysts, including our in-house group of weather and data scientists.
Underwriting positions are based in Bermuda, Chicago, London, New York, Singapore, Sydney and Zurich.
Corporate Risk
Our Risk team evaluates all types of risk across the organization, including strategic, operational, financial and regulatory risk. Supported by our superior risk culture, as well as cutting-edge tools, methodologies and models, the Risk team manages enterprise risk and governance - identifying, assessing, measuring, and mitigating risks, and allocating capital appropriately, to ensure the continued success and stability of the organization.
Our Risk and Underwriting teams work collaboratively using a single system to represent and aggregate risks. It is this integrated approach that makes RenaissanceRe so different. Our development and implementation of robust risk management strategies protect our company, our employees, and our stakeholders. Whether we are using innovative capabilities such as high-performance computing and artificial intelligence or leading the development of open-source risk modeling and data standards, our risk team has established our reputation for innovation and industry leadership.
Corporate Risk plays a leading role in RenaissanceRe’s partnerships with the Insurance Development Forum (IDF), the Sustainable Market Initiative (SMI), and ClimateWise to address global challenges, encourage sustainable insurance practice and promote climate resilience in vulnerable communities.
